Abstract

There are many different applications in the education of gifted individuals and in theselection of teachers who work in this field. The aim of the research is to study thequalities, selection, and training of the teachers of gifted students in the national andinternational literature in addition to the opinions of administrators and teachers on thequalities of teachers in Turkey. The opinions were obtained from 242 administrators andteachers, with five associate degrees, 117 undergraduate, 111 master's and nine doctoratedegrees. Research data were analyzed by content analysis in line with teachercompetencies criteria. Although the opinions of the administrators and teachers revealedin this research and the criteria set forth in the workshop overlap with each other, it isseen that the skills such as social skills determined as the criteria are still not taken intoaccount in the selection processes.
