Abstract

The Oomen bee brood feeding test is a long‐standing, frequently used test for investigating potentially adverse effects of plant protection products on honey bee brood. Based on new methods, new regulatory requirements, technical improvements as well as current experience and results from the evaluation of acute (single) and chronic (multiple) honey bee brood feeding tests, a revision of the method is advised. This paper describes recent approaches suited to current needs and developments and fulfils new risk assessment requirements.
