Abstract
In this paper it will be shown how the ontological (Bohm) interpretation of quantum field theory can be applied to the Guth-Pi model of the inflationary universe in a de Sitter spacetime. The Bohm interpretation has the advantage of providing a simple way of discussing the transition between the quantum and classical levels and thus we are able to demonstrate in a straight forward manner how the classical world emerges from the quantum origins of this specific model universe.
