Abstract

Summary The Bibliography of Dendrochronology is a computer database of literature relevant to the various fields in the tree-ring sciences. The database was created and is continuously updated by Dr. Henri D. Grissino-Mayer. Access to the database is now available to scientists on the worldwide web via a searchable online interface made possible by Michele Kaennel Dobbertin with funding provided by the Swiss Federal Research Institute WSL; where the online version resides. The database only contains references that use tree-ring information in some way. Each entry is indexed using separate fields for general keywords, site information, and species examined. Abstracts are available for many entries as well. The future success of the online database depends on the contributions of articles by scientists worldwide. We therefore encourage scientists to supply the bibliographic details of their articles online via the web interface, and to send hard copies of the actual articles to either author so that more comprehensive indexing can be accomplished.
