Abstract

A new method of solving the stationary one-dimensional discrete Peierls model with exponential interaction between atoms is presented. By the example of constructing the one-soliton excitation it is shown that this method of solving the self-consistency equations is simpler than the method developed in previous papers. The method is also used to analyse the one-soliton solution against a background with a periodic wave in the nonstationary continuum version of this discrete model.
