In the period under review, the importance of periodicals in the social, political and cultural life of Ukraine was extremely important. Any event immediately became known and appeared in the press. There was a significant difference between the capital and regional press, both in quantitative and qualitative terms. The regional press formed the public opinion of the South of Ukraine. The main areas of reflection of life abroad were assessments of internal, economic and foreign policy development of countries. Issues of social, cultural, scientific and technical development remained in the background. Given the interests of society, journalists tried to convey the content of events as fully as possible.
