Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics, prevention and treatment of ocular surface injury caused by the mistaken thought that couldn’t remove soft contact lens and tried to take it repeatedly. Methods From Mar. 2012 to Oct. 2016, the data of 16 eyes of 16 cases with ocular surface injury caused by the mistaken thought that couldn′t remove soft contact lens and tried to take it repeatedly were analyzed retrospectively. Results All patients were female.The mean age was (24.3±4.7) years, ranged from 18 to 32 years.All cases were single eye injury.There were 7 right eyes and 9 left eyes. Clinical manifestations were mainly blepharospasm, conjunctival hemorrhage and corneal epithelial defect.All cases were successfully cured after the drug therapy and psychological leading. Conclusion The ocular surface injury caused by the mistaken thought that couldn’t remove soft contact lens and tried to take it repeatedly generally occurs in single eye of young women at the evening.The treatment should be paid attention to the importance of psychological leading.The prognosis is good.The ocular surface injury may be avoided if we can clearly remove soft contact lens already as early as possible.
