Abstract

SUMMARYAttempts were made to improve the nutritive value of diets based on separated milk and barley by adding free lysine and methionine. Feeding trial and nitrogen metabolism studies showed small beneficial responses to lysine, but not to methionine; the effects however were not statistically significant.
