Abstract

The Society for Research In Nursing Education (SRNE),* a forum of the National League of Nursing, fosters scientific investigation and theory development in nursing education as well as the use and testing of nursing and nursing education, theory, and research. Methodological Inquiry in measurement and evaluation is encouraged by the Society for all levels of nursing education, staff development, and continuing education. The Society also provides a forum to other professions and academic disciplines for the exchange of ideas, theories, and findings in nursing education. This column, written by members of the Society, will critique issues and trends In research in nursing education with the Intent of generating dialogue among nurse educators.
