Abstract

The cooling and warming rates during the cryopreservation of blood vessels play a part in the problem of low temperature injury. The cooling and warming process can raise the uneven distribution of temperature which may cause the thermal stress. The thermal stress of blood vessels in cryopreservation has been done numerical simulation in this paper. A model based on the enthalpy theory was solved by using the finite difference method, the transient thermal field and thermal stress field across the artery wall were obtained. The effects of cooling rates and warming rates on these two fields were analyzed.
