Abstract

Based on the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) turbulent model, the three-dimensional internal viscous flow field of the mine fan diffuser was solved with Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. The numerical simulation results show good agreements with experimental ones. The relative error was less than 5%, and the validation of the numerical simulation method was verified. Using the solution of viscous flow field, the Kirchhoff-Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings (K-FW-H) acoustic model was added for the simulation of unsteady flow field and noise field. The radiated noise was calculated. The aeroacoustics characteristics were also analyzed. The results showed that the proposed method can be used to simulate the internal flow field and the aeroacoustics of the mine fan diffuser correctly.
