Abstract

The behavior of erbium-doped superfluorescent fiber sources (SFSs) is rigorously modeled. Both simulated output power and spectral shape of SFS are shown to be in excellent agreement with the experimental results for the case of single-pass configurations. The theoretical analyses of SFS in double-pass backward configuration are presented for the first time.
