Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to describe the modes of behavior, demographic composition, social structure, and paths of mobility that characterize organized nudism. The data come from three sources : ( 1 ) two successive summers of participant observation in camps in the United States and Europe, (2) interviews with 101 nudists from the Chicago area, and (3) mailed questionnaires completed by 617 nudists located throughout the United States and Canada.
