Abstract

The 1996 Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference was held between November 3 through November 9, 1996 in Anaheim, California. The conference followed in the footsteps of its predecessors in its success. The meeting, which convened at the Marriott Hotel in Anaheim in sunny Southern California, included technical sessions on a variety of topics on nuclear science, medical imaging, and nuclear power and a series of interesting short courses. Seven hundred sixty six attendees from around the world listened to two hundred eleven oral presentations and reviewed three hundred twenty eight posters covering the full range of symposium topics. The short course program which featured six short courses was attended by one hundred and two students. The conference also enjoyed two workshops, one on FASTCAMAC organized by Satish Dhawan, Yale University and another on the Applications and Methods of Compton Scattering organized by Tumay Turner, UC Riverside. The conference was further enriched by the participation of thirty five commercial exhibitors who presented various products relevant and vital to the attendees.
