Abstract

The Road Traffic Noise Prediction Method is the third version of a joint Nordic method. The method can predict the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound pressure level, L Aeq,24, and the A-weighted maximum sound pressure level with time weighting Fast, L AFmax, when a series of traffic parameters and topographical parameters are known. The following subjects will be discussed: the development and implementation of the prediction method; the principles of the prediction method; the change of noise emissions over a 20-year period; future development of noise emissions; and the practical use of the prediction method.
