Abstract

Nitroguanidine can be determined as a base by nonaqueous titration in acetic anhydride. The titrant is perchloric acid in glacial acetic acid. Endpoints are determined potentiometrically by a glass (or platinum)/modified calomel electrode system. Nitramines such as HMX and RDX do not interfere.
