Abstract
One of the sections of the East River Division of the New York Tunnel Extension of the Pennsylvania Railroad is called The Sunny·side Yard. It is the terminal passenger yard of that railroad in New York City, and is located in Long Island City, Borough of Queens, about 3.5 miles from the Terminal Station and 1.6 miles eastward from the East River. The name Sunnyside is derived from the local name of the neighborhood. The Sunnyside Yard Section extends from 1.0 ft. west of Thomson Avenue to the west side of Woodside Avenue, a distance of 8 500 ft., has a maximum width of 1 625 ft., and embraces 208 acres.
