Abstract

Obstet Gynecol Surv 2016;71(3):151–153 The objective of this clinical opinion is to describe the limitations of current tests used to detect bacteria in the female urinary tract and inform practicing clinicians about emerging new techniques that can identify previously undetected organisms in the bladder. The authors describe the new techniques for assessment of urinary bacterial content and explain how their use has major implications for diagnosis and treatment of many urinary and other disorders.
