The New Mexico State University Spanish Speaking Master's Program

Abstract

New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico, has recently established a Spanish Speaking Master's Program offering a unique integration of intensive English and basic professional courses in Spanish thereby eliminating the necessity of English languge proficiency before admittance to a Graduate School program. The intensive English segment of the program, following a standard TEFL pattern, has successfully opened opportunities for advanced study in the United States to qualified international students initially lacking English language proficiency.
