Abstract

The book analyzes the formation of the political elite in the post-socialist countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe from a historical perspective, characterizes the change in its status and the dynamics of development in a multi-party system. The authors studies the processes of formation of elites' new generation in each of the countries of the region, taking into account both the established patterns, such as the orientation towards the principles of political pluralism in some countries and ethnocracy, leaderism, etc. - in others, and the new principles of elites' functioning, including the entry of most countries in the region into supranational structures, primarily NATO and the EU. The publication is addressed to those who are interested in the modern history of the countries of Central and South-Eastern Europe, the nature of the political processes taking place in them, to the persons who make practically oriented decisions, as well as teachers, graduate students, and students.
