Abstract
This article is an introduction to an exhibition of the same title, consisting of paintings by six contemporary Chinese artists, most of whom are from Taiwan. It is being circulated by the American Federation of Arts in this country. Some of the ideas of this article were included in a lecture on “Contemporary Chinese Painting” given by Chu-tsing Li in connection with the exhibition at the University of Minnesota, at Stout State University (Wisconsin), and the Baltimore Museum of Art.
