Abstract

The New Beetle Cabriolet continues Volkswagen’s tradition of four-seater open-air bestsellers. During the development of the New Beetle Cabriolet, great emphasis was placed on meeting the highest demands in terms of torsional rigidity and vibration comfort. The car is a fully fledged four-seater that features an all-season convertible top, an automatically deploying rollover protection system and a high level of interior equipment — proving Volkswagen’s ability to combine safety, functionality and everyday practicality in an attractive lifestyle-oriented vehicle. The New Beetle Cabriolet comes with a choice of four engines: three petrol engines and a TDI. A six-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox is also available. This gearbox is the first six-speed front transverse gearbox in its class and outperforms all other front transverse automatic transmissions on the market in its range of gear ratios.
