Abstract

The levels of 71, 72, 73, 75Ge have been investigated with the (p, d) reaction at 20 MeV. DWBA predictions were used to obtain l n transfers and absolute spectroscopic factors. In the reactions with the even- A targets only one l n = 4 transfer was observed and a single l n = 1 transfer to a low-lying level carried most of the available 2 p 1 2 spectroscopic strength. In contrast approximately 50% of 2p 3 2 and 1 f 5 2 spectroscopic strengths were found to be spread over many levels at higher excitation. The center-of-gravity energies and filling coefficients of the 2p 3 2 , 1 f 5 2 , 2 p 1 2 and 1 g 9 2 neutron Subshells calculated from these measurements are in generally goo agreement with the existing information on Ni, Zn and Se. The 2 p 3 2 and 1 f 5 2 shells are almost full for N > 38 and additional neutrons preferentially fill the 1 g 9 2 shell.
