Abstract

Human urines were investigated for neutral phenolic and indolic compounds under dietary control: a standard diet, sucrose-water diet, water-Na2SO4 diet, and after antibiotic treatment. The neutral compounds were detected on bidimensional paper chromatograms after fractionation on an Amberlite CG50 ion exchange column. The excretion of neutral compounds decreased after diet restrictions, and after antibiotic treatment most of the neutral compounds decreased or disappeared from the urines.
