He received the bachelor of science degree from the University of Akron, the master of science degree from the University of Iowa and his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. From 1955 to 1957 he was Chairman of the Study Commission of the Iowa Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Pittinger is the author of many papers dealing primarily with the pharmacology of drugs used in anesthesia. Dr. and Mrs. Pittinger have three children. ☆J. PAUL LONG, Ph.D., was born in Albia, Iowa. He received the bachelor of science degree in chemistry, the master of science and Ph.D. degree in pharmacology from the State University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. He spent from 1945 to 1946 in military service. At present Dr. Long is Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the State University of Iowa. His hobby is working on the lawn and garden. Dr. and Mrs. Long are the parents of two sons. ☆JERRY R. MILLER, M.D., was born at Tripp, South Dakota. He received the bachelor of arts degree from the University of South Dakota, his medical degree from Temple University and master of science degree in anesthesia from the University of Iowa. His military service was spent in the USAF (MC). He is now in the Department of Anesthesia at Indiana University Medical Center as a member of the staff and faculty. Photography, flying and music (piano) are his special interests. Dr. Miller and his wife, Peggy, have four children.
