Abstract

The neo-classical transport theory in the banana regime for a plasma with an arbitrary number of ion components in an axisymmetric large ratio torus is developed. Effects due to density and temperature gradients and a toroidal electric field are considered using a treatment based on an elaborate collision operator. The case of two ion components is considered in detail and numerical results are presented for the situation in which one component is a heavy ion impurity.
