Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate selected characteristics, academic performance, and personal problems, and successes of Negro undergraduate students who enrolled in the following seven formerly all-white State colleges and universities in Tennessee for the period between September, 1963, and June, 1965: Austin Peay State College, Clarksville; East Tennessee State University, Johnson City; Memphis State University, Memphis; Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro; Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville; University of Tennessee Martin Branch, Martin; and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
