Abstract

Negative electromagnetic parameters materials have become a research hotspot due to their interesting properties, such as negative refractive index, perfect lens, etc. In this paper, FeNi/Al2O3 composites with different FeNi content were prepared via a hot-pressing process. The permittivity and permeability have been studied at radio frequency. When the FeNi content exceeds the percolation threshold, the FeNi/Al2O3 composite with 30vol% FeNi content shows negative permittivity spectra indicating the low frequency plasmonic state, which can be explained by the Drude model. Meanwhile, the magnetic spectra presents obvious relaxation characteristic with the increase of FeNi content.
