Abstract

The synaptic currents were recorded extracellulary from curarized rat diaphragms. After the addition of BW 284C51 the duration of the synaptic current was increased fourfold. After the addition of iso-OMPA the duration was increased by 10–40%. It is concluded atht acetylcholinesterase terminates trasmitter action, and butyrrlcholinesterase is of little or no importance in this respect.
