Abstract
The National Research Program Smarter Health Care promotes health services research in Switzerland with a budget of 20 Million Swiss Francs. The main goal of Smarter Health Care is to provide an evidence base that helps to improve health outcomes of people at risk for developing or with (multiple) chronic conditions through optimized health care utilization and delivery. With a more longterm perspective, Smarter Health Care aims to contribute to improved health data in Switzerland and to create a strong community of researchers for sustainable and high-quality health services research.
