Abstract

The article examines the national idea in the activity and work of Bishop Sofron Mudryi during different stages of his life. It highlights the main aspects of his activities abroad as vice-rector and later rector of the Ukrainian Pontifical College of St. Josaphat in Rome and his many years of work at Vatican Radio. Particular attention is paid to the national idea, which is expressed in his works, especially in his preaching. The connection between Christian values and national education in the views of Bishop Sofron Mudryi is pointed out. The main ideas of the vision of Ukraine as a democratic, free, independent and Christian state are presented.
