Abstract

Nucleic acid vaccines have shown promise for infectious disease but not for cancer. Ying et al.1 have increased the immunogenicity of naked nucleic acid encoding β-galactosidase (β-gal) – a popular model tumour antigen – by constructing RNAs that use a Semliki forest virus-derived replicase to self replicate.
