Abstract
The thin strip casting process developped by the Myosotis Project has now reached a level raising the question of an industrialization.The last improvements deal with the optimization of mould hydrodynamics, the lateral confinement and the casting rolls thermomechanics.Several sequences with a duration of more than 4 h have been cast at the Isbergues plant. The maximum duration is 5 h, i.e. 225 tons and nearly 11 km of steel strip with 865 mm wide rolls.The surface quality obtained after cold processing is suitable for saleable applications (decoration tubes, etc.).
