Abstract
The mylohyoid bridge occurs in between 1 and 60% of individuals among various groups of man. The precursor of this bridge is a membrane continuous proximally with the sphenomandibular ligament and stretching the length of the mylohyoid groove medial to its contained neurovascular structures. The membrane and its bony variant may be derived from Meckel's cartilage.
