Maja Trochimczyk Maja Trochimczyk Moonrise Press Maja Trochimczyk, Ph.D. (McGill’94), is a music historian, poet, and photographer, born in Poland and living in California (www.trochimczyk.net); author of six books on music, most recently Frédéric Chopin: A Research and Information Guide (2015) and six volumes of poetry. She published 27 peer-reviewed articles in such journals as Musical Quarterly, Computer Music Journal, Polish Review, Polish American Studies, and Muzyka; and 18 book chapters in volumes on Chopin, Lutosławski, Polish music after 1945, etc. She taught history at McGill University and USC, and read papers at over 80 national and international conferences. Among her awards are the Swastek Award, Distinguished Service Prize, and Creative Arts Prize from the Polish American Historical Association as well as Poland’s Ministry of Culture’s medal for the promotion of Polish culture abroad.
