Abstract

The present study investigates the conditions of the the Mudéjar (domesticated) in the Kingdom of Castile as stated in the royal decree by King John II in 814 AH/ 1412 AD. The study sheds light on the social, economic, and religious circumstances of the Mudéjar. It also attempts to analyze the royal decree with regard to the reasons behind issuing it, its items and its consequences. One of the most important results of the study is that the 814 AH/ 1412 AD royal decree shows a great deal of discrimination, persecution, and injustice against the Mudéjar in the Kingdom of Castile.
