Abstract
A concise formulation is given for the calibration of a moving coil ballistic galvanometer used to measure the electric charge of a transient current. Basic calibration methods for underdamped and overdamped operation are briefly described. A method is given for a complete calibration in terms of the total Ohmic resistance of the moving coil circuit. A useful approximation of the complete calibration has a particularly concise form.
