Abstract
Dr. Alexander Bachmann was born in 1968 in Leipzig, Germany. He attended premedical school in Greifswald, Germany and earned his medical degree at Leipzig University Medical School in 1994. After completing his residency in St. Gallen, Cologne, Zurich, Gelsenkirchen and Leverkusen, he gained board certification as a specialist in Urology in 2002. Since 2002, Dr. Bachmann has been a Fellow of Urology in the Department of Urology, University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. In 2004, he moved to Munich and worked on the development of urologic laparoscopy at LMU, Munich. Dr. Bachmann has been the Provisional Head of the Department of Urology, University Hospital Basel, Switzerland since April 2005. His specialisations include laparoscopy (prostatectomy and donor nephrectomy) and prostate laser surgery.
