Abstract

AbstractVarious methods of ENcalcification, processing and staining have been investigated to study thin sections of human enamel. EDTA‐Na2 in a phosphate buffer was found to be the ENcalcifier of choice, and a stain utilizing SnF2 and H2S solutions was found to stain the sections a rich dark brown. The sections produced showed a keyhole outline of enamel rods in cross section with no eviENnce of interrod material.
