Abstract

The article polemically examines some fundamental issues, investigated by S.N. Baburin in the monograph “The Moral State: Russian view of the values of constitutionalism”. Among them: the principle of objectivity in science, the concepts of morality and justice, the forms of popular control. The civilitarian theory of state and law is discussed. The necessity of building an essentially new formation of society based on the dominance of spiritual values over material values and the need to transition to direct democracy is substantiated.
