Abstract

The first four central moments ofin sampling from the Gram-Charlier distribution are obtained using published coefficients and compared wit those obtained by simulation. The power of tests of normality is invesated by fitting Johnson distributions using the calculated moments and the results compared with estimates obtained by simulation.
