Abstract

The crystal and molecular structure of lead thiobenzoate Pb[SC(O)Ph] 2 has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The thiobenzoate ligands are coordinated to the lead atom through the sulfur atoms of the thiobenzoate ligands. There are weak interactions with the oxygen atoms. In the solid state the structure exhibits a complex three dimensional network of Pb[SC(O)Ph] 2 units formed by bridging interactions by the sulfur atoms.
