Abstract

A technique for the use of mold guide casts to assist in the development of denture esthetics has been described. The mold guide casts are used for the initial appraisal in the mouth to determine tooth selection. Then a silicone impression of the selected mold is used to form wax teeth which can be positioned on temporary bases in order to observe the arrangement of the teeth in the mouth and modify their positions according to this observation. Epoxy resin molds are made for the fabrication of plastic teeth which are duplicates of the selected mold cast. The techniques for making the molds and the teeth are described.
