Abstract

AbstractThis study examined the equivalency of disability estimates obtained from the health assessment questionnaire (HAQ) and the modified HAQ (MHAQ). We found that although the MHAQ and HAQ scores were highly correlated, MHAQ scores were significantly lower than HAQ scores, were not normally distributed, and exhibited a restricted range. Implications of these findings are discussed.
