Abstract

From the mid-1870s Parisian streets saw a remarkable proliferation of large, colorful illustrated posters, advertising café-concerts, music halls, exhibitions, novels, shops, consumer goods, resorts, and others. From the mid-1890s the number of illustrated posters for myriad consumer goods increased vastly.
