Abstract

The article outlines chosen technical possibilities in the field of metropolitan transportation organization based on justified modal splits. The introduction clarifies the policy of sustainable transport and ways of determining modal splits. The article also summarizes existing obstacles linked with the organization of modal splits within the transportation network. It also outlines modern, developing telematics systems which enable the implementation of sensible traffic organization with modal splits. The article also contains a traffic organization concept for the presented modal split model. The conclusion outlines potential benefits arising from the proposed method of shaping modal splits.
