Abstract

The paper presents the method of modelling a vacuum circuit breaker in MATLAB/SIMULINK software and also the results of verification of its operation and practical usefulness for conducting analysis of overvoltages and overcurrents occurring in commutated capacitive electrical circuits. Examples of digital simulations of overvoltages and overcurrents in selected electrical circuits are also provided and the optimal conditions for the switching off of capacitor banks are determined.
