Abstract

The generalized Yeh-Stratton criterion is applied to an angled crack prob lem of unidirectional fibrous composites with a crack oriented in the fiber direction under uniaxial tensile load. The fracture stresses and the fracture angles are computed, and the predictions are compared with the available experimental data.
