Abstract

The results obtained from the breakage of single ore particles of different sizes at varying levels of impact energy are analysed further. It is shown that the application of excessive amounts of energy to particles in size classes close to (but larger than) the required product size, can lead to overbreakage. It is also indicated that overbreakage is a potential source of overgrinding in grinding mills.
