Abstract

Objectives To evaluate the clinical value of minimal invasive treatment to remove the double J stents caused by calculi formation which were difficult to remove.Methods Retrospective analysis the clinical date of 28 patients who were difficult to remove the double J stents caused by calculi formation from August 2009 to March 2012 in the Urology Department,Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University.Results 18 patients were treated with extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy,5 patients were treated with trans urethral cystoscopic lithotripsy,4 patients were treated with ureteroscopic pneumatic/ultrasonic lithotripsy,1 patient was treated with percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL),all the patients were removed the double J stents successfully,without any complication,such as the ureter avulsion,urinary tract infection,hemorrhoea and so on.Conclusions With regard to the patients who have difficulty in removing the double J stents because of the calculi formation by ordinary cystoscope,according to the hardness and location of the calculi,using suitable minimally invasive treatment will get a well therapeutic effect.meanwhile,it is very important to prevent the calculi formation of the double J stents.
